I’m going to take things to a very dark place right now. Those with sensitive emotions should skip to the third paragraph. OK, here it goes: Have you ever considered what you would do if Mercedes-Benz decided to discontinue production of the G-Wagen?

OK, take a deep breath. It’s OK. That’s not the current reality. Stay with me here. It’s likely you’d survive in a world where the coolest Mercedes-Benz in production no longer existed. Still, have you considered how you’d get your cool Benzo fix?

Have you ever considered how cool the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4×4 Crew Van is? It’s understandable if this vehicle hasn’t crossed your mind. Mercedes only recently brought the four-wheel-drive version of the Sprinter to the United States.

To celebrate its arrival, for a week we had fun using this Sprinter to turn heads all over Southern California. As enjoyable as it was to hustle this imposing red mass up and down the highways and byways, while shocking the hell out of people with its sheer gigantism, our highlight was testing this van’s off-road chops.

That’s when the real fun began, and thankfully, cameras were rolling when it all went down.
